The challenge

With evolving technologies , a tight labour market and a work population rapidly aging, we are faced with an enormous IT challenge. Demand for IT professionals is at an all time high, while finding talent proves more difficult than ever. We need to look beyond our borders and tap into new talent .

Tapping in to the talent boom

We provide a solution by tapping into a pool of IT talent that, so far, has been largely untouched, Africa.

1.3 billion, and growing

With a total population of 1.3 billion people, almost 400 million reside in the ECOWAS, this accounts for 5 percent of the world’s population. Next to this, the ECOWAS has also been responsible for one of the world’s fastest growing economies, which, with the median age of 18 and an ever increasing workforce, will only continue to grow.

ECOWAS

In short, the ever increasing young talent boom in the ECOWAS countries offers a great opportunity to stimulate the economies of the ECOWAS countries as well as provide a solution for job market challenges countries in Europe, North America and Asia currently face.

What we offer

A great future

Salone Tech Nation aims to inspire and motivate young talent through education so they secure a good future. Situated in Freetown, Sierra Leone, STN offers educations in the various relevant IT areas. The curriculum of each of the educations provided by the university are tailored towards the needs of either the African (ECOWAS) or global job markets.

A home for talent

STN is available to all ambitious, talented and driven youngsters within the ECOWAS whom desire an education within IT. We want to give them access and the ability to benefit from the opportunities STN offers. There is an admittance exam in place in line with the highest international standards.

Broad Curriculum

Besides IT, the curriculum also consists of additional language (speaking and writing) courses. By offering Spanish, English, French and German as well as other language courses we aim to give our target audience (students) a head start in to the different job markets.

Support for graduates

Once graduated STN provides additional support for graduates so they can successfully enter the job market. This support includes job mediation, advice on employment contracts, legal affairs regarding housing, immigration and international staffing.

Our Goals

  1. To offer youngsters in the ECOWAS an education of the highest quality that gives them access to the international job market.
  2. To provide ECOWAS countries with a better skilled and educated population, which in turn benefits the local economy.
  3. Turn the ECOWAS into a viable and interesting region for companies to settle.
  4. Stimulate growth of new start-ups within the ECOWAS which also benefits the area in which these companies operate in.
  5. Provide a solution for countries outside ECOWAS (Europe, North America, Asia) regarding the shortages within the IT area.
  6. Give countries that experience the negative effects from a tight labor market, access to potential employees that are highly skilled and educated.
